Image Compression Tool
The purpose of building an image compression tool is to optimize website performance and enhance user experience. By compressing images, the tool can significantly reduce the file size of images without compromising quality, making web pages load faster and improving overall site performance. This not only improves the user experience by reducing load times, but it also saves server storage space, which can be costly for businesses. Additionally, the tool can optimize the design team's working process by making it easier to manage and upload images to the site without worrying about file size limitations. Overall, an image compression tool can make a website more efficient, user-friendly, and cost-effective.

01My Role
As the developer who built the image compression tool using bash scripting, my primary goal was to create a user-friendly and secure solution. I decided to build the tool on the user's local device to ensure that security issues were minimized, as there is no need to transfer files over the internet. This also makes it easy for the user to access and use the tool at their convenience. To make the tool simple to use, I designed it with a straightforward interface where users can easily drop slices into relevant compression folders and then press a command. The compressed slices are then automatically saved in a folder called "completed," making it easy to locate the compressed files. Overall, I aimed to create an efficient and user-friendly image compression tool that enhances the user's experience while minimizing security risks.

02Result
Design team is thrilled with the results. The tool has optimized their working process, and they no longer need to worry about file sizing issues when uploading images to the website. This has saved them time and effort, allowing them to focus on designing and creating content. Moreover, the tool has standardized the file size of desktop and mobile slices, ensuring that images are consistent and of high quality across all devices. This has resulted in an improved user experience, which is critical for any website. Overall, the image compression tool has been a great success, and I am thrilled to have been a part of its development.
